Jamie Zakovec, WELL AP, NCIDQ, ASID

interior designer

Jamie Zakovec, born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, is an interior designer at modus studio. She spent a significant amount of her childhood visiting Chicago, Illinois, arguably the epicenter of American architecture. Exploring its rich urban fabric initiated her deep interest in design.

Her ultimate goal is to create spaces that are both functional and exquisite, while also considering the personal user experience, cultivating beautiful spaces that encourage the mental and physical wellness of individuals and the community as a whole. She believes that designers should create spaces that tell the stories and events of the past while reimagining them for the future.

Jamie began working at modus studio as an intern while majoring in interior design at the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design. She is enthusiastic about design work from an interdisciplinary approach. During her time as a student, she also explored her interests in architecture and landscape architecture. It was in these classes that she developed a larger appreciation for how people interact and acquired an understanding of the power that all three disciplines have to bring people together.

In her free time, Jamie enjoys staying active whether in the gym or in the outdoors. She enjoys yoga, weight lifting, and biking. She loves to travel and sketch the spaces that she explores. You can also occasionally find her assisting the Arkansas Razorback Hockey Team with graphic design and social media efforts.
