Sarah Bartz, Assoc. AIA

Sarah grew up in North and South Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. After visiting Clemson’s architecture school, she fell in love with studio culture and the power to directly improve day-to-day experiences through well-designed spaces. She has an acute, personal understanding of the detrimental impact that poorly designed educational spaces have on neurodiverse students. Because of this, she is passionate about creating beautiful educational spaces that help all students learn to the best of their ability.

Sarah graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. At Clemson, she focused on material-driven research projects while learning the basics of design through studio and travel. This led her to pursue both a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Digital and Material Technology from the University of Michigan. Sarah's time in the fabrication lab at Michigan allowed her to strengthen both her physical and digital design skills, which directly carried over to her teaching and research projects. These experiences strengthened her desire to make architectural design and education accessible to more people.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys trying new recipes, perfecting her pour-over coffee skills, and spending time outdoors, particularly in the mountains and near water. You'll often find her exploring Arkansas’ towns and hiking trails with her husband, Walker, and their dog, Pepper.
