milestones + achievements of 2021.
Jan 04, 2022
Farewell, 2021. This past year provided numerous milestones and achievements thanks to our exceptional clients and talented designers. Here are just a few of the many highlights:
We doubled the size of our studio space at 15 N. Church Avenue, knocking down walls and expanding into the office next door. We publicly released our new purpose statement and guiding principles. We were chosen to remain in The Walton Family Foundation's Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program. We fabricated a 12-foot tall, steel curvahedra sculpture on the University of Arkansas campus. We volunteered with the City of Fayetteville cleaning up portions of the Razorback Regional Greenway. We sponsored ULI events such as the Ellen-Dunham-Jones presentation on case studies in retrofitting suburbia. We collaborated with Little Free Pantry and designed a pantry kit prototype. We sponsored a juried art exhibition at Local Color Studio Gallery highlighting extraordinary local talent. We participated in National Bike Month and the Global Bike Challenge, helping to increase awareness and ridership across the region. Adohi Hall won a national AIA Housing Award and was shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Awards. We had our work featured at A South Forty, an exhibition at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale. We announced Philip Rusk's advancement to modus associate. We celebrated Aaron Speaks' 10th work anniversary at modus. The Evans Tree House was featured in a new book titled "Tree Houses: Escape to the Canopy." We celebrated modus studio turning 13 years old. Ozark Natural Foods won an Excellence in Design Award at the South Central American Society of Interior Designers 2021 Design Summit. The modus kicksquad won the Spring 2021 Kickball Championship. Red Barn received an honor award in recognition of outstanding achievement in architectural design from the Arkansas chapter of AIA. The Bike Porch won Best in Show at the AIA Arkansas state convention's Architect as Artist Design/Build Competition. Osage Park Pavilion received a merit award for design excellence from the AIA Gulf States Region. Construction began on a number of architecture and interior projects, some even several time zones away, creating a busy year for our project managers and our construction specialists. And of course, numerous projects were successfully completed this past year.
We're particularly excited about what's in store for us in 2022, and we look forward to sharing it with you all. Happy new year, everyone!
